River hideaway
The Metzo Noosa Resort is a short stroll from the pristine Noosa River and just minutes from Hastings Street and the sparkling waters of Laguna Bay, where golden sandy beaches meet unspoilt National Park. A premier holiday destination!
Apartments are sleek and modern, in a quiet, boutique ambience, with lush tropical landscaping, heated pool and bar-b-que entertainment area. All apartments offer tranquil water views over the lake, with spacious covered patios.
Accessibility
The Metzo has a couple of ground floor apartments that offer easier access. The apartments are slightly different, so it is recommended to talk to the managers about your individual access needs. Currently there are two 180 mm steps into the unit from the car park entrance. However, a second entrance, via the pool, has only a shallow 95 mm step, that could be accessed with a portable ramp. The interior is level access throughout.
The two bedroom apartments have fully equipped kitchens, interior laundy facilities, air conditioning with ceiling fans, cable television and internet access.

Bedroom
The main bedroom is very spacious and the most accessible.
- Door opening: 770 mm
- Floor surface: low pile carpet
- Manoeuvrability: plenty of room for assisted transfers and using a walking frame (if required the chest at foot of bed can also be removed to give more room)
- Bed size: Queen
- Mattress: Quilted ensemble
- Bed height: 530 mm
- Wheelchair access beside bed: 125cm space each side
- Clothes hanging space: Wardrobe hanger is currently too high for wheelchair reach
- Ceiling fan and air conditioning
Note: The second bedroom can be made up as two single beds or a king size bed.
Ensuite bathroom/toilet
Although the bathroom has not been designed with disability access in mind, it offers the following features:
- Sliding door
- Door opening 760 mm
- Open access under wash basin
- Flick mixer lever taps
- Easy reach, low power points
- Toilet height 465 mm
Note:
- The shower recess is large enough for a chair. However, the shower rose (nozzle) is a fixed height. There is also a hob (step) into the shower of 140 mm
- The flush button on the toilet can only be reached from standing
- There is a second bathroom with small bath and over bath shower
Living and dining room
The combined lounge/dining area is spacious, uncluttered and very accessible. The floor is tiled making mobility easier and there is separate air conditioning.
Furnishings include a large dining table, (low) lounge, and remote control television, DVD, stereo. More supportive seating with arms is available on the patio, and can be used indoors if preferred.
Kitchen
The kitchen has been fitted with a range of quality appliances, including:
- Microwave (positioned for easy access from sitting)
- Benchtop stove with easy grip controls positioned towards front on side (within easy reach)
- 'D' style handles on cupboards
- Dishwasher available
- Flickmixer tap
- Bench height: 785 mm
- Full size fridge/freezer
Laundry
The apartment has an internal laundry with wash tub (with standard turn taps), washing machine and drier. The washing machine is top loading with its controls at the front and is 830 mm high. The drier can only be reached from standing.
Patio
There are two patio areas, both overlooking the pool and lake. Entrance is via wide opening sliding doors (1840 mm width). There is a small step of 95 mm due to the door track. An outddor table and lightweight supportive seating with armrests is provided.
Outdoor areas and guest facilities
There is level access (via a ramp) to the pool, gardens and guest bar-b-que. This area is very accessible for wheelchairs and offers shade cover for relaxing by the water and for entertaining.
The pool has steps into the water, and a child proof gate at entrance.
Undercover parking is provided for each unit - Width 3190 mm (open at sides)

Areas that are not accessible
These apartments are not currently wheelchair accessible without assistance, due to steps at the entrance to the apartment and conventional bathroom design. A side entrance via the pool is a possibility provided you have a portable ramp and can manage the childproof pool gate. In general, the Metzo Noosa Resort would be suitable for people with limited mobility, using a wheelchair or powered mobility to get around outside.
