Wheelabout is an Australian owned and operated service catering for the individual needs of people with limited mobility. We have a reputation for providing quailty wheelchair accessible vehicles and service. Our vehicles can be adapted for wheelchair passengers or drivers.

If you are holidaying or living on the Sunshine Coast we can arrange long and short term wheelchair accessible vehicle hire. Features include:

Excess reduction policy
Our cars are comprehensively insured with an excess of AU$2000 minimum payment for damage/loss of use.
- You may wish to opt for excess reduction for a rental period between 1 to 14 days, the amount payable is AU$15 per day to reduce the excess to AU$500.
- For rentals over 14 days you can opt to pay an extra AU$10 per day to reduce the excess to $500.
- Higher excess applies for drivers less than 25 years of age.
Delivery
Vehicles can be picked up from our Gold Coast office or delivered to most areas including Brisbane or Maroochydore airports (charges may apply). Alternatively we can arrange for a vehicle to be waiting for you at your holiday destination.
Equipment:
We also have some items of equipment available for hire to people renting our vehicles, such as:
- DECPAC light weight folding ramps - AU$2 per day
- Manual Lifting Machine - AU$10 per day
- Commode - AU$5 per day
- Wind up bed - AU$15 per day
Rental plans
Vehicles are available for long and short term hire. A driver/tour guide can also be arranged by request. Please see our web site for current prices. We accept payment by cheque, credit card, or cash.
Wheelchair accessible camper van
An Australian First! We are planning to include a motor home/camper van as part of the Wheelabout fleet, and would like to develop this service in consultation with potential customers so that it meets everyone's needs. If you are interested please contact us, we would value your comments about features we should include and hire costs.
