CU/ECS SIG

Vision

To see all members of the ARATA Computer User's SIG contributing to and building an effective Australia-wide communication network for sharing relevant information and meeting assistive technology challenges.

Mission

To provide a multidisciplinary forum to share information and resources in assistive technology in the areas of computer access, education/training, employment, leisure, and environmental control technologies.

Goals

To encourage members to provide and share information on relevant literature, current projects, new products and product development, web site reviews and net-based resources.

To support and train ARATA members in using communication technologies (eg ARATA list serve & web page) by:

  • establishing small local networks or partners to enable people without access to the Internet to participate and use the ARATA communication channels; and
  • ensuring that the communication technologies meet the needs of its users.

To establish a network of Regional Facilitators to respond to local needs, and provide feedback to the CU SIG committee.
