Technology to assist fall prevention

Many frail elderly people are injured climbing out of bed. For people with dementia, this is a serious risk. The use of technology to alert nursing staff that a person is at risk of falling from bed is attracting wide interest. This paper outlines a variety of methods used to monitor a person in bed, and warn staff that the person is at risk.
