Technology Access.
There are more and more opportunities to perform everyday tasks from home with the use of computer technology. Banking, managing finances and shopping are just a few of the tasks that can be completed online. To access services online is a area growing in popularity and more and more services are looking at being available online. These online services provide the assistive technology user with additional choices to maintain independence and the assistive technology practitioner with additional challenges.
How do we deal with this ever-developing area of online service delivery and ensure that assistive technology users can use these services? What are the issues that have been identified that contribute to people being confident in using these services? What resources are available to assist with developing skills in the use of online services? In addition to these questions, feedback from assistive technology users in regards to online service use will be presented.
