My voice my technology

This presentation will be a personal journey, and a professional insight into why technology plays an important role in my communication. I will speak about my choice of technology, including electronic communication devices and computer software. Discussion will cover how I have used the technology in the workplace as well as ways to enhance my artistic and creative ability. As a person with complex communication needs, I have always believed there is more than one way to communicate. Nothing stops me from searching for a new way to express myself. In the presentation I will speak about the software I have used, such as EZ Keys Words+ and Powerpoint Slide shows. I will also address the use of amplification as a means to empower my voice. More recently I have become a Dynawrite user and will use the presentation to compare the Dynawrite with the Lightwriter. I will also provide the audience with insight into strategies for troubleshooting with examples of what to do when technology becomes unreliable, what happens when people complain they don't understand or like the voice output, and the issues around the time needed for preparing a presentation or a response.
