Three years ago I was introduced to the Internet after purchasing my computer. At first I explored different websites. Eventually I ventured into a chat room for deaf and hard of hearing individuals at about.com
I was surprised to find that I have developed close friendships with several ladies in that chat room. Even though we all live in different states we have been chat friends for years. Over a year ago I was in a chat room at hearing exchange.com where through a friend I met a Lawyer who wears a Cochlear implant. Frank and I soon discovered we had many similar interests and were chatting online every night on many topics. We also are game checkers partners at yahoo games.
Last February we decided it was time to meet face to face. Frank came to visit in my hometown for the Memorial weekend. It was like we knew each other for years we fell into the same pattern of talking, laughing and enjoying each others company like we did online. For now we have decided to continue visiting one another and continue our online chats. This proves how the Internet connects people forming strong bonds that will last a lifetime, so go connect with others it is worth it.
