Books of Inspiration

One afternoon I was working at my computer with the television on in the background. The talk show Oprah was on the topic: people inspiring others.

One segment focused on a book called "Ten Things I Learned From Bill Porter" by Shelly Brady. The book is about an Oregon man, Bill Porter who has cerebral palsy. Bill lives independently reaching his goals despite obstacles.

The book chronicles Bill's life, and how he overcame his disabilities to become a door to door sales man and live a happy simple life.

The author, Shelly Brady also talks about the strong bond between the two that spanned over twenty years to a special friendship. She describes how Bill inspired her to help and love others. Despite setbacks and tragedies Bill has managed to always keep a positive upbeat attitude about life. In the book there are several life lessons to live by, from individual worth, integrity and faith.

Like Bill Porter I learned to accept my disabilities as a part of my self and to follow my dreams. I have always believed that if you believe in a goal and work hard it will be achieved. Every day I wake up with a renewed positive attitude to live each moment to the fullest.

Read this book it will inspire you to unload stress, be happy with your self and love others.
