True Angels

Several months ago a dear friend passed away who had such an angelic loving spirit. I admired her courage and strength a great deal.

This ladies name is Cindy Greschaw and for many years she battled Arthritis. Even though Arthritis caused Cindy to be in a wheelchair and needing daily help to care for herself, she always had a positive attitude. Whenever I walked into a room she would be sitting with a big smile ready to talk the day away. She would give me a hug, ready to hear what was going on with me. She never complained about her health problems or pain. She focused on what was good in her life such as family and friends.

Cindy's husband Randy was her main caregiver. He took care of all her needs, making sure she was happy and safe. Being a caregiver can be a very stressful job especially caring for a loved one. I have a great respect for friends, family members and co-workers who care for love ones. It takes a special caring strong person to do this job.

Cindy and Randy were also very lucky to have very supportive friends and church community. People were delivering meals, and visiting with Cindy.

She also lived a very active life from being taken shopping, to lunch and hair appointments. This outpouring of love and generosity Cindy and Randy receives is a perfect example of what Christmas spirit is about. It is not about receiving gifts or the amount of gifts received. It is about helping your fellow neighbour and showing affection to loved ones. It is an amazing feeling to have after helping someone and no materialistic gift can beat it.
