Our coffee meetings are low key get togethers for all family members including grandparents and extended family. They are run by a Families Supporting Families Committee member. We try to find cafés around the area that are wheelchair and child friendly as many families have sibs or kids with them.
It's a good way to find out more about FSF and tap into the great wealth of knowledge we have on local disability resources. This style of meeting also suits some parents/carers who don't like big groups and who can only get out to very local events. We try to move the meetings around the Hunter area. No booking is necessary just drop in.
Roll-a-walk-athon
On 16th September 2007 Families Supporting Families will be holding their first ever Roll-a-walk-athon.
- WHERE: Hunter River Community School, Cnr George & Lindesay Sts East Maitland 2323
- WHEN: 16th September 2007 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
We are inviting children with disability as well as their siblings, family or friends to take part in this great fund-raising event. Participants may walk, use their wheelchairs, heart walkers or bicycles or ask a friend to help them around the track. They will set their own goals, weather it be one lap or 50.
Family, friends and the community can support participants by sponsoring them for each lap they do or offering a donation. For a sponsorship form call Mickey 0417 431 562
