How to get involved

Volunteers sewing Braille books into volumes.

There are several ways in which you or your friends could become involved with the Queensland Braille Writing Association and Braille House:

Become a QBWA member

Currently an annual cost of $5.00, renewable from 1 May. Members are entitled to vote at the AGM and will receive any mailed information about and invitations to events.

Volunteering

There are many ways you could assist at Braille House in a voluntary capacity, from everyday library, office or book production tasks, through to the more involved but very rewarding and much needed task of learning to become a transcriber of Braille or Moon.

Donating

The Association is a completely voluntary organization, makes no public appeals and employs no collectors. All donations of $2.00 and over are tax deductible. QBWA attracts only limited government funding, so financial assistance provided by donations and bequests is always welcome to help improve and expand the services and resources we can offer to people who are blind or have low vision and to ensure that we can continue to fulfil our Mission.
