Part 1 - Using commercially available books to promote literacy:
This literacy package has been created specifically for children with intellectual as well as additional disabilities (such as hearing impairments, physical disabilities, Down syndrome and Autism.) We have included a variety of practical augmentative ideas to assist your child with limited verbal skills to participate actively in the literacy learning process while developing skills such as their ability to read independently; comprehension; sight words and phonological awareness skills by using a commercially available book.
'Let's Read Together' provides many ideas for utilising commercially available books to help your child develop literacy. We have used 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' by Eric Carle to demonstrate ways to incorporate augmentative strategies into the literacy learning process.
The Let's Read Together literacy package is presented on a CD that can be used on both Windows and Macintosh.

This literacy package has been created specifically for older children and adults with intellectual as well as additional disabilities (such as hearing impairments, physical disabilities, Down syndrome and Autism.) We have included a variety of practical augmentative ideas to assist the individual participate actively in the literacy learning process while developing skills such as their ability to read independently; comprehension; sight words and phonological awareness skills by using individualised material.
The Let's Read Together literacy package is presented on a CD that can be used on both Windows and Macintosh.
